Yes. I'm currently designing a new logo to put on my blogspot, tumblr, and wordpress accts. I hope to get a .com domain for my wordpress soon, you know? So I'll sound all snazzy and professional like. Working on my business cards too.
NoTube videos= X.
NoTube Turtle= \oo/
In case you were wondering why I want to call it NoTube Turtle: NoTube=See previous post.
As for the Turtle bit: From 5th grade onwards I've been lovingly (highly questionable, but hey, it's free to assume. Haha) called the Turtle in various tongues and accents. Turt, Turtal, Tortol, Torts, Torta, Tortie, Bao (Bisaya for Turtle), Pagong (Tagalog for... tortoise or turtle, I can never get it right), Pawikan (turtle/tortoise... I seriously need to get my Tagalog straightened out)... Heck, even Genbu, after the Turtle God from Fuushigi Yuugi. It was highly insulting at first, but then I grew used to it. I've had eight years to get used to it.
Oh yeah, it's worthy to mention that my ex-boyfriend was known as the Rabbit. Together we were known as... TurBit.
Huh. No wonder why we broke up.
But that's beside the point. I've been The Turtle to all of my friends for so long (mom insists I should be a monkey or a squirrel at least, since I get up to the top bunk of our bed at an almost inhuman speed), it's stuck with me as well. Now I want to....
Draw me wearing a turtle shell, holding an old TV (complete with antenna) upside down and about to chuck it into the trash bin.
Or something similar. What do you guys think?

A New Title Calls for a New Logo.

NoTube Video
Not much to the title. It’s a play on YouTube (Or RedTube, if you’re into… well, that). Ever since a professor of mine told me “Film is dead honey, you’re in the wrong business” at a campus tour at Hofstra U for the class, it stuck with me. So much that I changed majors from Media Studies to New Media Technology. Meaning, instead of waiting for someone to tell me what movies I’ve made can actually make it to the Big Screen, I’ve chosen to learn how to self-publish/be an indie filmmaker/have a presence on the internet.
Let me elaborate:
Self-Publish: Seriously, if you don’t get this, I feel sad for you.
Be an Indie Filmmaker: I’ll have to raise my own funds and stuff. No need to wait for bigwig sponsors, but if I’ll have some people interested… :) It’s rude to say no. You know?
Have a presence on the Interwebs: Just that this blog is going to be about my life on the internet and in New York. It’s not going to be exclusively about videos/movies. I’ll also entertain some (occasional, I promise you) illusions of grandeur in here, and maybe even a few tantrums. I don't really have a tendency to be a diva or anything, but I am a certified dreamer. So. Expect more delusions than tantrums. Oh, and photos from my phone. People see who and how I am, and they might get interested to work on a project with me.
So seriously, how many indie films ever made it to the Tubes [TVs]? Yeah, my point exactly. Hence, NoTube Videos. Of course if one of my films (my currently nonexistent films; yes, I have a nasty habit of procrastinating) make it to TVs, I’ll have to change my blog title. But that’s a huge stretch from now.
Or maybe not. :) Mom and I are working on a Media Company right now, soooo… :)
